How do you change a fraction to a percent?
As students we learned how to multiply to find an equivalent fraction, simplify the fraction, understand the concept of percent, and convert the fraction to a percent.
As teachers we discovered the internet and technology is more powerful in teachng a child than a worksheet or lecture. It was incredible to watch all of the children in the Hole-in-the-wall experiment in India learn from one computer without adult supervision. We learned how to produce several educationally beneficial projects using the internet "cloud" instead of consuming paper. It was an enjoyable and engaging experience.
